The site is located near the Blacourt forest, between the hamlet of Montreuil and the national road 31 in Blacourt. It is one of the last wet meadows and moors, a typical site of the Pays de Bray. With about 30 hectares, communal plots are essentially composed of woodlots of pedunculate oaks and downy birches. The site is partly classified Natura 2000. A discovery trail of 3,6 km is developed and marked out in order to find out the exceptional floristic and faunistic heritage. The path crosses the Avenue Verte London – Paris.
This forest presents a remarkable heritage interest and covers 1000 hectares. You will be able to find it out thanks to the reading tables located all along the marked pedagogical trail. You will be able to find out the big oak tree 3 centuries old (5 meter tour) located at the crossroads of the Baraque, the remains of gallo-roman tombs (dolmen) that have been excavated at 500 meters from the big oak. The circuit has a distance of 5,4 km and can be done with family. This forest is managed in part by the National Forest Office.
On the territory of the Pays de Bray, there are moist pasture situated on the village of Saint Germer de Fly and Villers sur Auchy. They offer a rich natural patrimony. You will discover different the specificity of the fauna and the flora : moist pasture, small gorse, newt, curlew and snipe.
Remarkable relief element, the Sainte Helene mount offers from its top an orientation table allowing the walkers to locate as well as a startling panorama on the Epte and on the Pays de Bray. Archeological and historical site to which popular traditions are attached, this Regional Nature Reserve also shelters remarkable natural backgrounds where rare flora and fauna flourish in Picardy !
The orientation table is located at the top of the hill and lets you have a global view of the Pays de Bray geological specifity. Ceramic and decorated orientation table which deserves to be seen. The orientation table has been realized in 1999 by two sculptors, Juliette and Jacques Damville.
The couple has used the ceramic technic which allows, thanks to the enamels, to associate the colours to the landforms. The landscape realized on the enamels lava embraces a panorama of 360 °. Plant graphics, animal and insects prints frame this large landcape.
Site of 25 hectares developed with trails and small bridges which overlook the ponds including a part which belongs to the Regional Nature Reserve of the larris and bogs of Saint Pierre es Champs.
Walks, fishing ponds in daily rental. Hall rental for up to 500 people (possibility of a 100 m² parquet floor available). Rental of pitches for caravans. Open every day except Thursday.
